Tractor-Trailer Fire Shuts Down Parts Of New York State Thruway
A massive fire forced officials to shut down the New York State Thruway between two exits in Upstate New York.
New York State Police Troopers rushed to the New York State Thruway on Tuesday around 11 a.m. for a tractor-trailer fire.
State Police Investigate Commercial Vehicle Rire on I-87
State Police responded to a commercial vehicle fire on the roadway of I-87 in North Hudson, New York at about 11:06 a.m.

The investigation determined a tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on I-87 when the rear brakes caught on fire causing the trailer to ignite.
The driver spotted the fire and was able to pull over, stop the tractor-trailer, and get out of the vehicle.
The unnamed driver managed to get out just before the fire reached the cabin, leaving him uninjured, according to New York State Police.

Fire Closes Down I-87 In Upstate New York
I-87 was closed for several hours between Exit 30 to Exit 32 with the assistance of the New York State Department of Transportation.

The New York State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, Traffic Incident Management Unit, Essex County Emergency Management Office, Essex County Sheriff's Department and multiple local fire departments responded to the scene.
I-87 in the area has since reopened. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
