You may have passed this restaurant during your travels on 9W between Highland and Kingston and said to yourself, 'I should go check that out.' Too bad for you and everyone else who ever had the pleasure to dine there, but Global Palate in West Park has closed its doors and will be re-opening under new ownership in February.

The Global Palate owner and executive chef, Jessica Wichell, broke the news to the restaurants followers on Facebook. As a person who has dined here a few times, I am saddend because it will be tough to find the quality of food at another establishment in the Hudson Valley any time soon.

Here is how Ms Winchell broke the news to her patrons:

Global Palate is now closed. It has been a wonderful 11 years & an honor to feed and serve you! The staff and I will miss seeing our customers (you have become friends)!
I will be raising my beautiful daughter and available for personal chef opportunities, for more info email The building itself will continue to be a restaurant. The new owners are hoping for an early February opening. Thanks for everything, Sincerely, Jessica Winchell

I will look forward to checking out the new restaurant that opens in the same location, hopefully in the next month or two.

Before it was Global Palate, it was Marcel's. Do you have any memories of Global Palate or Marcel's that you would like to share with us? Is there a restaurant that you think is a 'kept secret' that you would like to clue us in on? Please share in the comment section below.
