New Update For Newburgh’s Massive Multi-Million Dollar Park Project
One of the Town of Newburgh, NY's most popular destinations is starting to look a lot different after a major milestone was reached in their multi-million dollar construction project.
Many residents were taken by surprise when the town announced the jumpstart on the project this summer. Initially slated to begin in September, work instead began in June. Now, residents can easily see why.
Project at Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh Takes Big Strides
The project at Chadwick Lake Park frustrated some parkgoers at first, as the early start date meant that summer camps that were traditionally held on the grounds needed to be moved offsite. Still, the reasoning for the summer groundbreaking was sound.
Early Start on Community Center Project Shows Results
In order to get as much work as possible before the ground froze during the winter season, project managers moved the schedule up several months. Now, that decision seems to be paying dividends. Not only has a foundation been poured, but work on the structure itself has also begun (below).
Timeline for Chadwick Lake Park Community Center
When all is said and done, a new community center will stand on a site at Chadwick Lake Park that previously held a hockey rink and outdoor fitness area. The $12-million project is currently slated to be completed by July 2025.
