An upstate New York man has died after being found in a camp fire over Memorial Day weekend according to authorities.

CBS 6 Albany reports a 57-year-old New Scotland man was allegedly last seen heavily intoxicated and asleep beside the campfire. The man, who has not yet been identified, was found early Monday morning.

Police suspect a party had occurred at the Voorheesville residence in Albany County the previous evening. Whoever it was that had the party had the fire going despite a burn ban being in effect.
