Vassar has provided an education to a lot of Hollywood A-Listers, but these few might be the most famous alumni out of all of them.

One of the coolest things about the Hudson Valley is that many celebrities currently live here, film here, have lived here or have attended one of the schools here. That brings us to Vassar College which is located in Poughkeepsie, New York and the amount celebrities that are connected to the college is CRAZY.

Vassar is a private college that was founded by Matthew Vassar and it's one of the "seven sister's (the first women's colleges in the United States). The Vassar Campus is filled with stunning buildings and it's truly beautiful spot here. I've been in the library there a few times and it's like going back in time when you walk in, it has stunning architecture and is a beautiful environment to study in.

I remember when I started working here in the Hudson Valley people mentioned how many famous people attended Vassar. I have to be honest, at first I didn't really believe it and thought everyone was just pulling my leg because they know how much I love celebrities and Hollywood gossip. However, once I started researching it, I saw how it's true and the amount of famous people was pretty crazy.

Every person and every generation has a different idea of who they think are famous and popular. Who I think is an A-Lister might not be to someone else and that's okay it depends on who and what you like when it comes to Hollywood.

Who are the most famous alumni from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie?

So this is who I think are the most famous alumni from Vassar:

#3 Meryl Streep:

There's no denying that she's a Hollywood icon. Streep has been in a ton of movies like 'Sophie's Choice', 'Mamma Mia!', 'Julie & Julia' and who could forget her as Miranda Priestly in 'The Devil Wears Prada'. Streep also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and that pretty much means you've made it big in Hollywood and you are an icon. Streep reportedly gained a lot of attention during her time at Vassar and that's pretty cool if you ask me.

#2 Jane Fonda:

I've always loved Jane Fonda, maybe it's because she reminds me a lot of my Grandma Edna. Fonda is a timeless beauty who is not afraid to say what she feels or what's on her mind. Fonda has had a very successful career and has gotten even more famous later in life with hits like 'Grace and Frankie' and '80 For Brady'.She's had some controversy in her career, but she just keeps going and it's kinda become part of her character. Fonda reportedly dropped out of Vassar, but she still went and attended the school so she counts.

#1 Anne Hathaway

Aww man this is a big one for me. Hathaway stared in 'The Princess Diaries' and showed on the screen every girls dream of waking up and finding out they are really a Princess (still waiting for that to happen). Ironically, Hathaway also starred in 'The Devil Wears Prada' with my #3 choice Meryl Streep and her transformation in the movie was nothing but amazing. A lot of fans feel like they grew up with Hathaway because she's continued to excel and grow with her career. Hathaway attended Vassar for a few semesters and studied as an English Major with a Political Science minor. She eventually transferred to NYU, but hey she still attended Vassar for a bit.
