Dubbed "Niederhurst", the 8,000 square-foot mansion sits on a beautiful 13-acre property overlooking the Hudson River. The historic home was originally constructed in the 1860s and 1870s, but its most recent owner has put their own spin on the interior design. Not everyone agrees with their taste.

The vitriol, it turns out, is mostly focused on one specific room.

Reaction to the Niederhurst Mansion's Interior

The general public seemed nonplussed over the non-purist approach to the remodel. "I’m…shocked. They took an absolutely beautifully crafted and structured piece of history and Beetlejuiced it", lamented one commenter on Facebook. "Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should", added another.
