What To Do If You Find An Animal On The Loose In The Hudson Valley
Have you ever come across a loose dog or other pet in your neighborhood? If you ever find yourself in this situation there are steps you need to take to ensure their safety.
I've had the unfortunate experience of coming across multiple loose animals. It's like I'm a magnet to super cute loose dogs. One time, I brought a loose pup to the Humane Society in Walden, other times I have just called the non-emergency number for the police to let them know exactly where a dog was running loose. But believe it or not, there is actually one person you should be calling.
When you come across a loose animal, as in a dog, house cat, etc, you really should call animal control. Kool 965 reports that your local animal control will come to pick up the animal and take care of it until the owner is available.
For the Hudson Valley, there are a lot of animal control centers. But if you live in Poughkeepsie, the number to reach animal control at is (845)-485-3626.
