WRRV Kicks Off 2021 ‘Shop With A Cop’ at Dutchess County Fair

Tis' the season...

Nope, we haven't completely lost it (yet), we're just trying to get into the holiday spirit a bit early here at WRRV and start thinking about kids in the Hudson Valley who could use a bit of help this upcoming holiday season.

Now if you've planning to head to the 175th Dutchess County Fair this week, I bet the last thing that's likely to cross your mind are the holidays - well we're here to change that!

For the past several years, WRRV has teamed up with local law enforcement to brighten the holiday season for some Hudson Valley kids through our 'Shop With A Cop' campaign.  We collect funds during the year and then use the donations to get gift cards, and then send these local kids out with some local cops for a shopping spree.  Check out coverage from our 2019 campaign.

So, we figured why not get out there and start collecting donations at one of the biggest events in the area, the Dutchess County Fair.

After missing out on all the fun last year, the Dutchess County Fair kicks off Tuesday August 24th in Rhinebeck, and runs through Sunday the 29th.  Val from WRRV's midday show will be doing her show live from the fairgrounds from 10am until 3pm on opening day, Tuesday 8/24, to kick off the festivities, and the 'Shop With A Cop' campaign as well.  You can swing by the WRRV tent, say hello, and if you're feeling generous, make a donation.

So in between screaming your face off on the midway rides, chowing down on new fair foods, or visiting with the animals and checking out exhibits, take a minute to find WRRV - we'll be there for the whole run of the fair!  Oh, and here's what we know about what to expect at the 2021 fair.
