Something is moving into the old JCPenney's at the Poughkeepsie Galleria. No, it is not a new storefront, but a health fair put together by the Dutchess County Government happening this weekend.

Y.O.U.R. Health Dutchess County Health Fair

This Saturday, June 11th from 11 AM to 3 PM, The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health (DBCH) will host the Y.O.U.R. (Young, Old, Urban, Rural) Health Dutchess County Health Fair. The fair will offer informational exhibits and demonstrations from various Dutchess County Government departments and divisions, along with local exhibitors with indoor and outdoor activities. The afternoon will have raffles, games, and giveaways to create fun for everyone. Those in attendance will receive free health-related items such as COVID-19 home test kits, tick removal kits, and first aid kits, amongst others.

DBCH staff will be available to provide information about a wide variety of topics, including but not limited to, mental health counseling, rabies, tick-borne illnesses, drowning prevention, and maternity health topics. Trainings and demonstrations will be offered by county agencies, school districts, and community partners that support the health of residents.

More activities include DCSO's K-9 Unit Demonstration, Fire Truck "Touch-a-Truck" experience for children, and The Dutchess County Traffic Safety Council's outdoor bike rodeo and car seat safety check.

DBCH Commissioner, Dr. Livia Santiago-Rosado, said,

"Our health fair will provide residents of every age valuable information about how to maintain healthy lifestyles, while also offering demonstrations from various County departments and community partners which will highlight the network of local programs and services available to address their health concerns."

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said,

"Residents are keenly aware of the importance their own health and that of their loved ones. I encourage residents to stop by our health fair, learn about how to improve and maintain their well-being, and appreciate the myriad of resources available to them."
