Amazon Says ‘Send Them Back’

One of the most purchased items of the 2015 Christmas Season and it is going back. The retailer that is encouraging you to return them? Amazon.com. The reason? Over 40 reports of the hover-boards catching on fire have been reported to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

From the head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Elliot Kaye:

I am pleased that at least one leading retailer is erring on the side of caution and taking action now. For consumers who purchased a hoverboard from Amazon, they can return the product right now for a full refund. I want to commend Amazon for voluntarily stepping up, providing a free remedy and putting customer safety first. Another reason to be cautious of these items? Over 60 airlines have already banned the hover-boards as either checked baggage or carry-on and the U.S. Postal Service has stopped shipping hoverboards by air. Did you get a hover-board for Christmas? Will you be keeping it or sending it back?
