I want the Mayor of Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County to honor the legend by giving him his own special holiday and I wrote a letter pleading my case.

We recently learned that the "Macho Man" Randy Savage made his WWE television debut in Poughkeepsie, New York over 30 years ago. On July 6, 1985 he made his WWE debut on television at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center (MJN Convention Center).

I urge local government officials to give the icon his own holiday. This letter is for the mayor of Poughkeepsie, New York.

Dear Mr. Nelson,

I hope this letter finds you well. Today, I come before you with a proposal that may sound outrageous but I hear me out. It's high time we honor the legendary "Macho Man" Randy Savage by declaring a special holiday in his honor right here in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Now, you might be wondering, "Who is this Macho Man Randy Savage, and why should we dedicate a day to him?" Oh, dear Mayor, allow me to enlighten you! Randy Savage was not just a mere mortal; he was a living, breathing embodiment of charisma, style, and unadulterated machismo. With his flamboyant outfits, larger-than-life personality, and the ability to deliver bone-crushing elbow drops from the top ropes, he captured the hearts of millions across the globe. Especially here in Poughkeepsie where he made his WWE TV debut at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center... on July 6,1985

Imagine the streets of Poughkeepsie coming alive with excitement, citizens parading in neon-colored spandex, and glorious "Macho Man: impersonations echoing through the air. Catch the madness creeping all across Poughkeepsie. Macho man may not be the hero this city wants but he is the hero we need.

I can already see the headlines getting national attention.

So, dear Mayor, I implore you to embrace the spirit of Macho Man Randy Savage oh yeah! Please proclaim a day dedicated to his legacy.

Make it happen Mr. mayor. Snap to it like you're snapping into a Slim Jim!
