A new boutique hotel is planned for Uptown Kingston. The nine room Wall Street establishment will also feature a restaurant on the ground floor.

According to The Daily Freeman, plans were approved January 9th by the city council. Another small hotel has been proposed a few blocks away on Crown Street, but that project still awaits approval.

Developers expect there to be demand because the closest hotel is outside the Uptown historic area. It's always nice when you go visit somewhere new, to be able to head out and explore on foot.

The three story building itself was purchased for just shy of $1 million by a New York City developer by the name of Charles Blaichman. He is expected to be involved with running the hotel after some extensive work is completed. You can expect renovations to take around six months. The restaurant on the first floor is expected to be run by an outside vendor.
