A New Gym In New York Will Offer Alcohol For Your Work Out
If you want to get people to your business, then just offer booze. More and more nontraditional drinking places are doing it. They've already offered drinks at record shops and bookstores. But at a gym? Is this for real?
Well, a new gym in Manhattan's Flatiron district plans to merge weights, punching bags and cocktails. The NY Post reports that the new spot called GRIT BXNG will offer "healthy" drinks like kale martinis and hard kombucha. The bar will offer indoor and outdoor seating, but won't be on the workout floor, which is probably a good idea.
Co-founder Dylan Zanker said about the new spot:
[Clients] can have an intense full-body workout and socialize afterward with a drink.
GRT's website describes the new gym as:
GRIT BXNG is a 50-minute full body workout that builds strength and confidence with powerful boxing sequences. The workout enhances endurance and speed on the treadmills and tones bodies and core with floor exercises.
So, after your heavy workout, you can chill and have a few to cool off. Or perhaps, you'll want to go back out on the floor and pound the punching bag some more after getting liquored up? Or maybe drop an entire barbell on your foot as your hammered?
This could go either way. Drunken people lifting weights could provide us some good YouTube and Instagram FAIL videos.
The new gym opens August 8. Oh, did we also mention it accepts Bitcoin? Maybe we should save that part for another discussion.
