Look, I know many of us don't want to acknowledge the end of summer, but it's easier to accept with delicious brown ales like this week's Beer of the Week.

I love a great brown ale. I'm sure I've mentioned that once or twice before here on WRRV.com, but if not, I'll reiterate: I love good brown ales. That's why I'm so excited about this week's Beer of the Week at Half Time.

Davidson Brothers is a brewery that has been gaining a lot of notice and attention in the area over the past year or so, and for good reason: they make good beer and they're located nearby. Yep, another great New York beer, this time from Glens Falls.

A very traditional British brown ale. It has a distinctive brown color and has moderate maltiness and a medium body. At 4.3% ABV, and its unassuming flavor, this is a definite session beer. The overall impression is of a sweet, moderately malty mild ale.

As always, it's half-price at Half Time in Poughkeepsie, so get there and get yourself a delicious beer to help you welcome the crisp air.
