The Dutchess County Division of Veteran Services will now have counselors available twice a month at the Castle Point Veterans facility to help local veterans. Veterans will be able to see a counselor on the first and third Thursday each month, starting April 7, 2016, by appointment.

“Our Division of Veterans Services offers numerous services for Dutchess County’s courageous men and women who defended the freedom we hold so dear. This is a great opportunity for those men and women who have served our country to receive services while being treated at Castle Point. The onsite location will allow veterans a convenient and accessible location to meet with a veterans counselor.”

Other services at Castle Point that veterans can take advantage of include replacing their military service records, replacing service metals, assistance filing claims, survivor benefits and burial requests.

Veterans can make an appointment with a counselor by contacting Dutchess County Veterans Services at (845) 486-2060 or veterans@dutchessny.gov.  Additional information about the services available for veterans is available online at www.dutchessny.gov/veterans.
