You can turn a fun night out into a way to help feed families right here in the Hudson Valley.

Imagine going home to an empty refrigerator? Now imagine that refrigerator is empty and it is in a home to a family of four or six. Hunger is not an issue that most people think is so close to home. Hunger has become stigmatized to extremely poor neighborhoods and developing nations.

It's hard to imagine but the sad fact is that people going hungry right here in the Hudson Valley.

According to The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, in 2010 a study was conducted only to find out that Upstate New York had a serious problem with hunger with almost 70% of people who participated in the study on or below the poverty line. Bills, clothing, rent and other expenses mount up sometimes the refrigerator or pantry doesn't get as full as it could.

Laughing Stock 8 is a comedy show in the Hudson Valley that helps make a difference. The night of laughs stars nationally known Brian Scolaro and features local talent, Adam Izzo. The show is Friday, May 17 at Laugh it Up Comedy Club.You can get all of the ticket info HERE.

All of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, which helps provide food to shelters and soup kitchens in six counties here in the Hudson Valley, and to The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie and provides a range of services to neglected and abused children in the Hudson River Region. Food donations collected at the show will be donated to Dutchess Outreach right in Poughkeepsie.
