Hello there, lovers of Cheap Hudson Valley Eats! We are always on the look out for places to go, get some great food and a couple of drinks and not completely loose my wallet when the check comes. Knowing that this is our mission, the lovely Sarah from WRRV gave me the heads up about the experience she had at  Ole Savannah on the Rondout in Kingston (the former Steel House), so I knew I had to check it out for myself.

I grabbed one of my friends and got the place around 3:45PM, turns out Happy Hour is weekdays, 4-7PM. No worries, we were starving and grabbed some beverages and an order of the pulled pork sliders as we waited for 4PM.

Happy Hour at Ole Savannah means, $5 glasses of wine, $5 well cocktails and $4 draft beers. (Selection could vary by day). On their regular chalkboard bar menu, there were also specials, like $3 cans of beers. Sarah gave me the heads up that some select appetizers were served complimentary during the Happy Hour.

When I asked the bartender, he said, "Yes, that's correct." Some of the free appetizers included the deviled eggs with bacon, chicken nachos, smoked chicken wings and ribs. I am not sure if this will vary each night, but ask your bartender and they will give you the low down.

A few beers, a couple of cocktails and the sliders, we spent about $30 for the two of us and left $40 to cover the tip. As you might have read with Cheap Hudson Valley Eats, I am always trying to be in that $20 (occasionally $25) range including tax and tip.

If you have a place that you love going to and would like to share it, email Brandi@wrrv.com. Thanks.
