It is days like today when a person realizes that nothing is above contamination. That nothing can be held sacred anymore. Dramatic much? Ok, maybe. But what is a person to do that is allegedly trying to make food choices that do not include artificial preservatives or high fructose corn syrup?

When it comes to getting a product that meets the above two requirements, but that also has to be able to cover your 'sweet needs', satisfy a sweet tooth or sugar craving, where does one go? How about the aisle of products that has no gluten, no sugar, supposedly healthy for you and is perceived to have no flavor? Have you been down that aisle? Have you noticed that the colors of the products are not as bright as the products in the other aisles? Do you think this is because there isn't sugar, salt or preservatives in these products (and they usually cost more too, but that will be a discussion for another day)?

One of these items that you might be substituting for "Oreo's" (did you know that Oreo's are vegan) by reaching for what could be perceived to be a healthier product, is now facing a recall.

Back to Nature Foods, LLC is voluntarily recalling two (2) lots of its Classic Crème cookies, 12 oz packages, because it may contain undeclared milk, not listed as an ingredient on the label. The affected product was distributed to retail stores nationwide. Packages are marked with a unit UPC #19898-01103 and with best by dates of 10 SEP 16 and 16 SEP 16 labeled on top of the package. No other best by dates are affected.  No other Back to Nature brand products are included in this recall.

If you have purchased this product, take it back to the store and they will either swap it for another box that does not have milk in it or refund your purchase price. Should you have any questions, they have set up a hotline phone number for customers, 844-275-5845.
