Cuomo Supports Legislation For Terminally Ill Using Life-Ending Drugs

Governor Andrew Cuomo said he would support certain legislation for terminally ill people to use life-ending drugs.

Syracuse.com reports that on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on a public radio station that he supports legislation that would allow a terminally ill person to seek life-ending drugs. Cuomo said that it is a difficult subject for people to discuss, but he believes elected officials should talk about it.

Cuomo added that his support for the legislation would depend on the specific details and mandates of it, according to Syracuse.com. Currently, seven states in the U.S. and Washington D.C.  allow people to seek a physician's help for ending their life. The Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, is prepared to sign a bill for a similar measure soon.
