First Glimpse of the New Pathway On The Mario Cuomo Bridge

The new bicycle and pedestrian path along Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge opened to the public Monday at 2 PM. A newly released video allows you to be among the first to catch a glimpse if you haven't been able to attend in person.

According to the Hudson Valley Post, the 3.6-mile path is 12 feet wide and links Tarrytown and South Nyack and features six scenic overlooks along the way. The paths are open for pedestrians and cyclists from 6 AM until 10 PM daily and take about 80 minutes to walk. On a bicycle, the trip should take around 20 minutes. The project is part of the $3.9 billion replacement of the old Tappan Zee Bridge.

In addition to the six overlooks, there are 10 different public art pieces and three food trucks to choose from. According to the Post, Governor Cuomo previously stated, 'the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge is an iconic gateway to the Hudson Valley...residents and visitors will have unprecedented views of the enduring beauty of the lower Hudson River Valley, along with more ways to cross the majestic river.'
