
Breaking: One Injured in Town of Fishkill Shooting
A scary situation unfolded in the Town of Fishkill over the weekend, as the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office reported an active investigation following an early evening shooting Saturday.

Shooting on Pappas Lane, Town of Fishkill
At approximately 8:30pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office confirmed that a shooting took place on Pappas Lane in the Town of Fishkill, injuring one.
According to Google Maps, Pappas Lane is located off Route 9D near the Sunoco Station and not far from Heritage Financial Park.
The official Press Release from the DC Sheriff's Office indicated that the shooting involved one victim, identified as a male, who was initially treated for non-threatening injuries at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh. The victim was then transferred to Westchester Medical Center for additional treatment.
In addition to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office response, New York State Police were also on scene following the incident.

Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Investigates Fishkill Shooting
While police continue to investigate the Saturday evening shooting, they did share the following in their press release:
At this time, the shooting is not believed to be a random act and there appears to be no danger to the general public.
Under the direction of the Sheriff's Office's Detective Bureau, the investigation of Saturday's shooting is underway with Detective Myers identified as the point person for anyone who believes that they have information relative to the incident.
