Just a few months ago, a well-known family-owned restaurant opened a new location in Fishkill, trying out a bit of a different concept. Savona's, with locations in Poughkeepsie, Kingston and Red Hook, launched Savona's Pizzeria in Fishkill, bringing their delicious Italian food and family traditions to this area of Dutchess County, as we reported in early November.

Earlier this week, Savona's issued a statement, recognizing that 'giving the pizzeria the time and attention it deserves became increasingly challenging.'

Savona's Pizzeria Fishkill to Become Colandrea Pizza King

The restaurant, located at 17 Merritt Blvd in Fishkill, will soon be under new, but perhaps familiar ownership, as Savona's recently made an announcement about 'an exciting new chapter.'

As displayed above, Savona's took to social media to both introduce and welcome Colandrea Pizza King of Middletown to Fishkill, assuring the community that they 'will continue to bring great pizza and hospitality to this wonderful community.'

Citing 'maintaining the level of food, service, and hospitality' that the Savona family is known for, they ultimately made the difficult decision to change ownership.

Colandrea Pizza King of Middletown to Expand to Fishkill

Now the Colandrea family are certainly no strangers to the pizza business; serving the Hudson Valley for more than 40 years (since 1980), Colandrea's Pizza King of Middletown has been serving authentic Italian dishes and inventive pizzas in Orange County. Providing a memorable culinary experience, their Middletown location offers eat in, takeout, catering, and even offers BYOB at the restaurant.

Confirming they'd be opening their second location, the Colandrea family encouraged customers and community members to stay tuned for details, assuring all that it would be the 'same family - same quality:'

More Pizza. More Love.

Same Colandrea quality.

The transfer of ownership, or 'passing of the torch' between the Savona and Colandrea families is set for Monday, June 22nd!
