Check out this remarkable story of how a Hudson Valley family is transforming life's worst tragedy, life's worst pain, into pizza.

In 2013, then 19-year-old Raina Ferraro went in for what was supposed to be a routine endoscopy. But something went wrong during the surgery which left the Chester High School graduate with severe brain damage and in a vegetative state. Raina never recovered, she passed away in May of 2015.

Raina's family tells Hudson Valley Post, Raina was all about family. In her honor, the family recently opened up Raina’s Family Restaurant & Gourmet Pizza on Route 17M in Monroe.

The food is getting rave reviews. Check out the story above to hear this remarkable story about how a Hudson Valley family is transforming pain into pizza --- and more.
