One of the colleges here in the Hudson Valley has made it onto the "Hidden Gems List" from According to a press release here are just a few of the criteria that each school was evaluated on:

'low student enrollment, expert faculty members, superb coursework, a variety of degree and certificate options, small class sizes, and campus facilities

In addition to the above items, schools also had to have fewer than 4,000 students, as well as a 20:1 student to teacher ratio. The Hudson Valley college that made it to this list is Marist College in Poughkeepsie. The only other school that made the list in New York is Sarah Lawrence College. There are several colleges making the list from Vermont, Connecticut and Maine.
