Earlier this week I embarked on a journey. I'm still trying to figure out why I even did it, but here we are.

Last week Starbucks announced that they would be giving out their reusable holiday cups along with a purchase of a Starbucks drink. I've never been one of those people that needs to be part of a trending promotion, but I love Christmas and the cups looked cute, so I figured why not?

Well, I've learned my lesson.

I went to the Starbucks near Marist College to get my drink and cup. I was met by a woman outside who said "Just turn around. Someone said they've been waiting for their drink since 10:26am."

It was 11:15am as I was walking in. I said you know what, they're probably being dramatic. They were not.

I was met with a huge crowd by the drink station waiting for their drinks. I ordered my drink around 11:20am and didn't end up getting it until around 11:47am.

Jokes on me, I probably shouldn't have gone to a popular Starbucks near a college in the middle of the afternoon.

I got my cup, a $5 sugary drink (that I wasn't really thrilled about) and a taste of the holiday spirit.
