We can always trust BuzzFeed for a solid list of places or products we should check out. They're also pretty helpful when it comes to suggesting movies we should watch.

Since it's October they're providing list of some of the most underrated scary movies we should be watching this season.

Surprisingly, the first movie on their list is based in the Hudson Valley and may also have a little bit of truth behind it.

BuzzFeed asked their community to submit some of the scarier movies they have seen over the past few years. Number 1 on the list? The Poughkeepsie Tapes.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes came out in 2007 and centered around a house in Poughkeepsie that investigators end up finding hundreds of tapes of a serial killers "work."

The film takes place in 2001 and is said to not have any significance to real life events, but if you're from the Hudson Valley you get a little bit of a Kendall Francois feel.
