Learn How to Make a Colonial-Era Cocktail [VIDEO]
I'm something of a nerd for old American beverages. Classic sodas, old, historical bars, different recipes for cocktails, long-lost interpretations of various beer styles--they're all fascinating to me. So when I saw that there was a bartender from Portland, Oregon (because of course he's from Portland, Oregon) that was making modern versions of old-time drinks, I had to check it out. Luckily, he's provided video and a recipe to allow you to make it relatively easy for yourself at home.
I mean, assuming you have access to old fireplace-related accessories.
Blowtorches and beer? Just two elements of this modern spin on an old Colonial American classic drink.

Welp, I'm off to find myself a second-hand loggerhead. If anyone has a loggerhead connect that charges affordable prices, let me know. I'm tryna' get my Flip on, as the kids in 1777 would say. I think. Probably. Whatever, let's just do this thing.
