A meeting has been set for Sunday in Poughkeepsie for HBO set crew to discuss the impact upcoming filming will have on local residents.

According to a post on Poughkeepsie 1st Ward Councilman Chris Petsas Facebook page, he's been out delivering flyers to alert residents in the Delafield and Hoffman Street areas of the 2 PM Sunday meeting at the Shamrock Club. He had this to say about HBO's upcoming production of 'I Know This Much Is True' as filming is set to start this week.

There will no doubt be challenges during the filming but this is an exciting time for our city and neighborhood with lots of good exposure for what is Poughkeepsie's best-kept secret - Ward 1.

According to the information being passed out, the following areas will be affected starting Monday night at 10 PM into the morning hours Tuesday.

  • East side of Talmage between Spruce and Hoffman
  • North and south side of Hoffman St. between Albany St. and Talmage

These areas will be affected this Wednesday, April 17th.

  • North and south side of Hoffman St. between Albany St. and Talmadge
  • East side of Talmadge between Spruce and Hoffman
  • East and west side of Delafield between Dutchess Ave and Hoffman St.
  • East and west side of Mt Carmel Place between Verrazano Blvd and Dutchess Ave.

Filming in the area is supposed to last several months and minor conveniences will surely be made up for by the economic contributions the cast and crew will make in the local community at restaurants, hotels, etc. This meeting announcement is in addition to other exciting Hudson Valley developments:
