New York Senator Wants to Charge Connecticut Drivers to Enter State

A toll war is looming between the states of New York and Connecticut.
The CT Post reports that New York State Senator, Peter Harckham, has proposed a series of tolls along New York State's border with Connecticut. The tools would be on I-684, Hutchinson River Parkway south of Greenwich, and on local roads in Lewisboro and Pound Ridge. There could also be tolls anywhere along the New York-Connecticut border.

Sen. Harckham said it is a direct response to Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont's plan for tolls along I-684 that runs through Connecticut. According to the CT Post, the plan has not been approved but a special legislative session is expected to occur between legislators in January 2020. Sen. Harckham said he and other lawmakers sent a note to Gov. Lamont that has gone unanswered.
