Pets Need Homes, Empty the Shelters Event Dec 1
Looking to have a furry family member join your home? If you are, then December 1, 2018 would be a great day for you to check out either the Dutchess County SPCA on Violet Ave, Hyde Park or the Ulster County SPCA, Weidy Rd, Kingston. On this day, adoptions of select cats and dogs will only be $20 and the balance of the adoption fees will be paid for by the Bissell Foundation.
Does this mean that you can just walk into a shelter on this day and walk out with a pet? No, you will need to meet certain approvals before the pet(s) can go home with you. For instance most rescue agencies will need to verify your housing information, vet information and to have your application approved. Each rescue maintains their own requirements.
For more infomation on how, you can get some of your adoption fees covered, check out the Bissell Foundation website.
