The new year is off to a sad start for fans of a locally owned restaurant in Hopewell Junction that has closed their doors after just shy of seven years of operation. The word went out earlier this week, with the owners announcing that the business had been sold, and that they were 'moving towards retirement.'

Plated Modern American Bistro Sold

Locals began asking questions over the past few days after noticing that a local favorite restaurant was closed, and especially after finding a sign that said a new restaurant was coming soon. Plated Modern American Bistro has officially closed.

To all our family and followers we wanted to let you know that Plated Modern American has been sold, and we are moving towards retirement. It has been the best years working at Plated and meeting the most wonderful people. Our customers have been a family to us and we appreciate all of their support and the love we've seen during the years.

While there's been no official announcement of the new business name or ownership, or a timeline for when the new restaurant would open, it was confirmed on social media that gift cards will be honored by the new establishment moving forward.

Plated had become known within the community as a spot to host special occasions and family gatherings, the place to go for a casual night out or a cocktail, and served up a variety of comfort foods.

Community Oriented For 20+ Years

Even though Plated Modern American Bistro had only been around for the past six and a half years, owners have been part of the community for much more. Plated owners formerly ran J and J Pizza Town in Fishkill, and have been in the restaurant business for nearly 40 years, making their start in Westchester.

We are appreciative of all the support that we received. We wish you all the best and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We thank our amazing staff that we have spent almost seven years with and some of you we have seen grow from high school to grown ups in our town. Love you all.

Congratulations and best wishes to Plated owners, Donna and James, and more updates to come once information about what's next for this location is available.
