A Hudson Valley man died following a motorcycle tractor-trailer collision. Police say the motorcyclist’s dangerous driving is to blame for his death.

Wednesday afternoon, State Police began an investigation following a fatal motorcycle tractor-trailer accident on the southbound side of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The accident was reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Witnesses told police they saw the operator of a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle driving in an aggressive manner, just moments before the fatal accident.

Police say 38-year-old Jose S. Capo of Nyack was weaving in and out of traffic near and on the Tappan Zee Bridge. Capo then lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the back of a pickup truck.

The impact of the crash caused Capo to be thrown from his bike, before being nailed by a 2012 Volvo tractor-trailer.

Capo was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Westchester County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Volvo tractor-trailer, Hashani Haqif, 55, of Harrisburg, PA, was not injured.

No charges are pending, police say.
