Police need help with any information regarding a teenage girl who was struck in her side Monday evening by a car that left the scene without stopping.

Around 5:30 p.m. Ramapo Police responded to a hit and run accident on N. Saddle River Road in Monsey. According to Ramapo Police a 16-year-old and her mother were standing on the side of the road when a dark colored minivan lost control and struck the teenage girl on her left side.

Police say the vehicle left the scene without stopping. Officials believe Monday’s deteriorating weather conditions may have cause the minivan to lose control.

The teen was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call that Ramapo Police Department at (845) 357-2400.
