Now Feeling That Post ‘Concert Season’ Depression
I am very much aware of the fact that this is a first world problem, especially at this particular time, but after a whirlwind summer, especially one where we were able to hang out with so many of you, our family of listeners, I can't help but feel this sense of post summer show blues.

True Life: I'm A Live Show Addict
My parents brought me to my first ever concert at age three; The Beach Boys at Yankee Stadium. I'm pretty confident they are to blame for the monster that was created from those early live music experiences, and in turn, the monster that i've created in my daughter!
Thinking back to 2020-2021 when concert/live-show options were limited, I really struggled; I mean it really impacted my overall well being. Nerdy, yes, but I bought tickets to a virtual AJR concert that aired on December 26, 2020, and I cannot even tell you how excited I was for this show, and the pure joy it brought to my life at that time. We even ordered merch....
Fast forward to summer 2025, by now i've more than made up for that lost concert time, doubling down in order to see our favorite bands on tour, crossing new artists off our must-see list, and justifying going to multiple shows in a week because of the 'lost years' as we called it.

Summer 2025: One For The Record Books
I'm not sure I realized just how expensive 'concert season' 2025 was going to be; actually once Backstreet Boys announced their Sphere residency and the gals and I began planning our Las Vegas adventure, I guess I should have known.
After that BSB announcement it was the Shinedown arena tour, AJR's outdoor amphitheater schedule, oh and all the incredible Bethel Woods shows on the calendar. Once our 30th anniversary shows with The Offspring/Jimmy Eat World/New Found Glory, +LIVE+/Collective Soul/Our Lady Peace, and Blink-182 were solidified, I actually began planning my summer around concert dates - has this become a problem?
I've Got The Post Concert Blues
Looking back at July and August, i'm not quite sure how I kept my head above water (or my credit card bills paid with the amount of tickets I had bought), but seriously, it was one incredible show after the next, and I always had another concert to look forward to....until now.
Last weekend with Blink-182 was the culmination the best summer of shows I've ever had, and I have to admit, i'm super bummed. I know we'll have more great WRRV Sessions to look forward to in the near future, and full disclosure, i'm going to hit Vegas in early January for BSB 2.0 at Sphere with the girls in the group chat, but I can't seem to kick the sad feeling that this rockin' summer is over.
I know i'm not alone in these feelings, and again, acknowledge just how fortunate I am to have had all these experiences over the past few months, but I find it hard to believe that anything will top this summer's lineup....but it can't hurt to try.
