It's often said that the toughest thing to do in sports is to hit a fastball.

I don't know how true it is, but as someone who gets smoked by the batting cage machines that throw the ball at a fraction of that speed, I can verify that at the very least it's not easy.

Now, imagine if, instead of a bat with a nice fat barrel to it, you had to do it with a blade.

And the ball was coming at you at a brisk 100 miles per hour.

For master swordsman Isao Machii, it ain't even a thing. Watch as he skillfully (and completely casually) slices this thing in half. Which, as Kotaku points out, is done intentionally in one continuous take so there can be no question that he did this thing for real, without any trickery.
