A lot of what we were planning to do this year over the holidays has been postponed or canceled but not the Saugerties Parade of Lights. It is so wonderful to have something to look forward to that the family can enjoy to celebrate the holiday season.

On Sunday, December 6th the Saugerties Fire Department is inviting other Hudson Valley Fire departments to join them for the Parade of Lights. Trucks and floats are welcome. And of course everyone is invited to gather safely along the route to take in all the fire trucks decorated for the holiday.

Chief Mason put in a post on the Saugerties Fire Department Facebook page that there is no need to pre-register he just wants fire departments to show up and line up with be in the order of first come first in line.

Line up with be at 4:30 PM on Post Street near Washington Avenue. If you want to see the beginning of the parade that would be the place to be. Step off for the parade will be at 5:00 PM. The route will go throughout the Village of Saugerties.

Kids of all ages enjoy a parade and a parade of lights with fire truck can't disappoint. If Saugerties is to far to travel from your home base be sure to check in with your town for what they might have planned to celebrate the holidays. Many towns are planning light and home decorating contests. See what your community has plan so you don't miss out on a chance to celebrate the holiday during a year when we could all use so holiday cheer.
