Senator Chuck Schumer says it's time to treat e-cigarettes just like cigarettes when it comes to marketing to children.  He says the e-cigarette manufacturers are targeting teens with glitzy ads along with fruit and candy flavors, like cotton candy and gummy bears.

Schumer says e-cigarettes do contain dangerous and addictive nicotine.  He doesn't want to ban them, but wants the Food and Drug Administration to prohibit manufacturers from targeting children in their ads.  He also cited an article that says there are nearly two-and-a-half million kids now puffing on e-cigarettes.

From the New York Daily News, a quote from Schumer: “You’re not marketing cigarettes using the flavors cotton candy and Swedish Fish when you’re aiming at 45- to 50-year-olds.”

Will the FDA take heed?
