And they said they weren't even supposed to be here today!

I love Clerks. I love it so much. I saw Kevin Smith's debut film when I was about 12 (which was way too young to see it) and became obsessed. I wore a backwards red hat all throughout high school because that's what Randal wore in the movie. If you stop me on the street and ask me to recite the movie's dialogue from memory, I could probably do it. It's that intense.

So if there are any other Clerks superfans out there, this should be exciting news. Brian O'Halloran, who played Dante Hicks, the main character, is going to be hanging out for a meet and greet at Haven For Heroes in Port Jervis this Saturday, May 5th. As an added bonus, Scott Schiaffo is going to be there, too - he's the guy who played the Chewlies Gum rep in the movie who gets a mob of people to pelt Dante with cigarettes. ("Cancer merchant! Cancer merchant!")

They'll be there from noon to five on Saturday. Plus, it'll be Free Comic Book Day and Cinco De Mayo, so you can stop by, meet the guys from Clerks, get some comics, and eat some tacos. Sounds like a great day to me. It has to go better than Julie Dwyer's funeral, anyway.
