Take Back Those Drugs (Day)
Have prescription bottles taking up valuable space that could be used for toothpaste or deodorant? Grab those old bottles and get ready to make some space. Plus, where you can take them. A big question is "Why can't I just throw them out or flush them down the toilet?" Well there is that whole "not safe for the environment" thing, where the drugs will leak back into our water supply, or a homeless person could possibly get hold of them and get an accidental overdose (ok, slightly extreme).
So you got your wisdom teeth pulled 8 years ago, but still have a few painkillers in the back of the medicine cabinet. Those pills won't be as effective as they were when you first got them, not to mention, what could happen if they got into crazy Uncle Franks hands after he already had a few beers.
The DEA has set up Take-Back sites nationwide from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 27, 2014.
Visit the agency's website to find a Take-Back location near you.
