A teenager is in serious condition with head injuries after he crashed his car into a tree.

On Sunday around 8:00 a.m., East Fishkill Officers responded to Sandy Pines Boulevard for report of a car that drove into a tree. Police say upon arrival they found an 18-year-old from Spackenkill with serious head injuries.

He was treated by East Fishkill Rescue Squad members and Mobile Life Paramedics who transported the teen to a Poughkeepsie hospital. He was admitted with serious head trauma.

The roadway was closed for over 3 hours as official’s investigated the crash. The preliminary report indicates the 18-year-old was driving a 2004 Honda north on Sandy Pines when he lost control of his car and crossed the road colliding with the tree.
