There’s a Jelly Stone in the Hudson Valley. Is it Yogi’s Jelly Stone?
So this morning on WRRV, Nick and I were talking about National Parks and somehow we got on the topic of Jelly Stone NOT being a real park. Nick promised me that it was. To make a long story short, we didn't just find one Jellystone here in the New York, we found a few:
- Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort at Lazy River, Gardiner
- Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres, Greenfield Park,
- Jellystone Park of Western New York, North Java
- Jellystone Park of Central New York, Mexico
Do you remember the story of Yogi the Bear? He was the walking talking bear that lived at Jellystone National Park, who was always stealing picnic baskets. He had a side-kick, who always tried to keep Yogi out of trouble, his name was Boo-Boo. The one who was always getting on Yogi's case was Ranger Smith. Occasionally, Yogi's girlfriend, Cindy Bear would make an appearance.
Have you been camping at one of the New York Jellystone parks? Where there any Yogi Bear sightings? Maybe a few reports of missing picnic baskets? Wait, who actually owns a picnic basket?
