Could the county with the most crime call the Hudson Valley home?

Crime in our community is always a concern. How dangerous is the place where we live? Recently, we found out that two Hudson Valley made the list of the most dangerous in Upstate New York. Despite all of the positive growth we've seen in Newburgh over the years it never seems to fare well on these lists. What does Newburgh's crime rates do for Orange County?

According to New York Upstate and data compile by the Criminal Justice Department, overall crime rates are going down. Despite Newburgh being the second most dangerous city in Upstate New York, Orange County is only 23rd on the list.

Thankfully, no HV counties made a high appearance on the list. According to data, Schenectady county is the worst.

As someone who lived in the Capital Region for a few years I can confirm that Schenectady was a bit rough in some areas. Does data like this deter you from visiting or even living in a certain area?
