If you've ever considered volunteering your time to assist others within the local community, why not take advantage of a training program that is being offered by the Ulster County Crime Victims Assistance Program.

According to the Ulster County Government official facebook page, volunteers have the opportunity to

Assist others through crucial moments in their life and connect them to essential services that help begin their healing process

As a trained volunteer, you'd need to enroll and participate in a 40 hour training program to prepare you to assist victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes. Upon completion of the course, volunteers receive certification from the New York State Department of Health guidelines.

The course will run Mondays and Wednesdays from March 16th until May 4th, from 5:30pm-8:30pm, and there all be NO class on April 8th.
