Do you want to help out in your community but thought that the only way you could do so was to give money? If you are not rich in funds, but are rich in time to volunteer here are a few ways that you can help out with the United Way of Dutchess & Orange Counties, from

  • Make A Difference Day on October 27 that the Newburgh Armory Unity Center. They need volunteers to help with programs geared to K-6th grades.
  • Love to read? Become a Book Buddy. By reading with kids, grade K-4, you can help improve their learning and comprehension skills.
  • Are you good with numbers? UWDO is looking for volunteer tax preparers. Volunteers get 20-40 hours of classroom preparation to make it happen.
  • Have 5 to 8 hours a week to give? You can help out during tax season, making sure clients get the right forms. You will receive training.
  • Are you a tech savvy person? Know your way around setting up computers? The The HV CA$H Coalition needs volunteers to help computer systems for the volunteers that will be helping to prepare taxes during tax season.
