Here is a change for you, there is a store that is just changing their address, they are not leaving their town.

The Michael's store that is currently located in the Hudson Valley Plaza at 703 Frank Sottile Blvd in Kingston (the same plaza that Sam's Club, Lowes and Gander Mountain is in) will be moving.

The new version of the store will be located in the Ulster Plaza near Barnes & Noble (which is at 1177 Ulster Ave, Kingston). According to their Facebook events page, the grand opening of the new location will take place on Sunday April 30, 2017 at 9:45am. The first 100 people through the door are to receive a $10 Michael's gift card. The Facebook posting also says that there will be prizes given out on the hour from 10am to 7pm.

Looking at the comments on their Kingston Store Facebook post, it seems the reason for the move includes not having a rear loading dock at the current location, which required all of the deliveries to be made using the front door. Another poster, suggested that the floor of the current store is falling into the ceiling of the Walmart below, and yet another person suggests that it has to do with the current condition of the parking lot and it's lack of parking. Are any or all of those reasons correct? Probably not. But what is happening, is that the location next to Gander Mountain will become an empty store front in a matter of a few hours.
