There is one month that I look forward to, but I have to admit, I am one of the few women that do, (I took a survey). It's No-Shave November. Yes, I know that the whole idea of it is to raise cancer awareness, by not shaving or grooming. Someone came up with the idea to use facial hair as a symbol, because many people fighting cancer end up losing their hair during their treatments. I like it because it helps to start the conversation about how you, can help and I get to see guys rocking the beards.

According to the American Cancer Society website, no-shave.org, there is only one rule (and it's a pretty loose rule):

The rules of No-Shave November are simple: put down your razor for 30 days and donate your monthly hair-maintenance expenses to the cause.

Who will be participating locally? The New Paltz Police Department. Last year the NPPD raised $3185. This year they are hoping to exceed that goal.
