Dutchess County Kids Have A New Place To Stay Cool
Though we haven't even technically hit the official calendar start to summer, the temps that have hit the Hudson Valley over the past several weeks have had us thinking otherwise. With the end of the school year quickly approaching, and summer vacations and camp plans well underway, what about some exciting news about a new way for local kiddos to stay cool and have some fun in Dutchess County?
New 'Sprayground' Prepares For Grand Opening
Nope, not a playground, or a splash pad, a brand new 'water sprayground' is set to open at Wilcox Memorial Park. Located beachfront, which is enclosed by a split rail fence, is 1,900 square feet with 27 water spray and sprinkle features also features a water table and activities for all ages and abilities.
According to the announcement from Dutchess County Parks, equipment testing has been done over the past few weeks, and the sprayground is almost ready to provide some fun relief to the summertime heat. They are waiting on one mechanical part to be installed at the park, and once it is, the new sprayground will be ready for action!
Once opened, sprayground hours will be 10am-6pm, seven days a week, through Labor Day weekend.
Other summer fun offered at Wilcox Memorial Park include the lakes, with boating, swimming, fishing, paddle and row boat rentals, pavilions, camp sites and the disc golf course that received some big praise and major attention recently.
