The 10Best List strikes again.
Every now and then, more like every week, the Hudson Valley makes its way on the latest USA Today 10Best list.
Most recently, our neck of the woods appeared on the 10Best Places to Visit this Fall with Sleepy Hollow making the list and representing from the region.
Now, there's an opportunity for the Hudson Valley to make another 10BestList
2 Haunted Attractions Make USA Today's Best List
With Halloween right around the corner, haunted attractions are top of mind. USA Today sent out their experts to find the best haunted attractions across the US.
Currently, they have their Top 20 list solidified. Now, they're currently counting votes to see who makes it to the Top 10.
On the Top 20 list, 2 Hudson Valley haunts made the it to the top of the crop.
The Headless Horseman and Hayrides and Haunted Attractions in Ulster Park has made the Top 20. USA Today writes the Headless Horseman is an "immersive experience that changes each Halloween season." It sits on 65-plus acres of land with "unusual monsters, amazing illusions, costumes, makeup, animatronics, and frightening details."
Also on the Top 20 list, Pure Terror Scream Park in Monroe. USA Today called Pure Terror "a behemoth of horror." READ MORE: Pure Terror has earned a spot in the Guinness World Record for the "longest and most terrifying haunted house and trail in the nation."
Needless to say, these 2 haunted attractions making the list should come as no surprise. Lets hope we see them on the 10Best List when they announce the winner in the first week of October.
More Haunted Attractions to Choose From Across the Hudson Valley
There are a handful of haunted attractions to choose from this year.
Wallkill's new Haunted Barn is waiting for you. Now open Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's at 5:30pm, Wallkill's Haunted Barn will have you testing your courage.
If you're kids are looking to put their bravery to the test, they have kids hours too! Animatronics will be the only scare tactics on from 2 pm until 5 pm.
Over in Dutchess County, Kevin McCurdy's Haunted Mansion will open for their 49th season on October 3rd, 2025 with this years theme: The Keeper.
