An Open Letter to 7-Eleven
It comes once a year and every year it gets harder and harder for the Hudson Valley to celebrate.
The date this Thursday is July 11th, 2019. Or 7/11. Tradition tells us that Thursday is 7-Eleven Day. According to ABC7 NY, we get to enjoy a free small Slurpee on 7-Eleven Day and additionally this year 7-Eleven is offering $1 hot dogs and pizza slices, plus limited edition cherry slurpee cookies.
It all sounds well and great, but if you head on over to the 7-Eleven website and hit the store locator, you'll see where the problems come into play.
There is only one lonesome 7-Eleven location in the entire Hudson Valley. You can find it on Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie. On the bright side, it's opened 24/7.
I for one believe the whole Hudson Valley should be able to enjoy free Slurpee day and shouldn't have to drive miles for a brain freeze. How can we remedy this? With a quick note to 7-Eleven obviously.
Dear 7-Eleven,
We're writing to you today due to the lack of 7-Eleven locations here in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Out of Sullivan, Dutchess, Ulster and Orange Counties, there is only one location standing in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Tomorrow is 7-Eleven Day and while we would love to celebrate, it's hard when there is only one location. We know you can't work miracles, but everyone should be able to enjoy a free Slurpee. What can we do? Lets brainstorm before the brain freeze. Hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
A concerned Slurpee Fan
How'd we do? Fingers crossed that 7-Eleven hears our cries.
