Award Winning Female Comic Takes Hudson Valley Stage

More laughs are coming to Poughkeepsie this weekend.

There aren't a lot of touring female comedians these days. In fact, you may struggle to come up with five female stand up comedians who are currently road comics. Jessica Kirson is looking to change all that.

Women in comedy don't seem to get the notoriety they strongly deserve.

Jessica Kirson is looking to change all of that and she's making it happen this weekend at the Laugh it up Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie.

Kirson was awarded Best Female Comic” in New York City by the MAC association and she recently received the Nightlife Award for “Best Stand-up Comedian. Almost more imprtanly she got the seal of approval from comedy legend, Dave Attel and she's even appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Jessica Kirson will lead an all female lineup including Jaye McBride and Ritu Chandra this Friday at 8pm.
